It is highly recognized that the collaboration of Humanities, Social Sciences and Data Science in an interdisciplinary approach, can contribute significantly to the field of education. Τhe analysis of the educational data could make a great impact only inside a domain-specific framework and only as long as they are embedded in an organized, holistic institutional approach. In contrast to a traditional universities where most of the interaction and teaching is done on a face-to-face basis, at Hellenic Open University (HOU) this is mainly achieved via multimodal technological pathways. From the application stage until graduation, every activity both students and tutors engage in, is somehow logged into an operational information system. In this concept, our interdisciplinary research team focuses on the analysis of the educational data collected from the virtual learning environments of HOU, and aims to transform available information into actionable knowledge.

• She is a physicist specializing in special education. She works as a teacher in secondary education. She is a research fellow of the School of Science and Technology of the Hellenic Open University.
